SplitEasy ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• •Account information: your name, email address, profile picture, and a Google account identifier when you sign in with Google.
• •Expense and group data: expenses you log, groups you create or join, members you add, and any notes or attachments you upload.
• •Device information: device model, operating system version, and non-personal crash / diagnostic logs used for stability and security.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• •Operate core app features (authentication, expense tracking, splitting, syncing across devices).
• •Keep the service secure, detect abuse, and fix bugs.
• •Improve performance and design based on aggregate usage patterns.

3. Data Security

We use modern encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and we follow industry-standard security practices. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong password on your linked Google account and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Data Sharing

• •Group members see expense and balance information you share with them inside a group.
• •Infrastructure providers (hosting, authentication, crash reporting) process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality.
• •We disclose data only when legally required (valid court order, subpoena, or law enforcement request) and will attempt to notify you when permitted.

5. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• •View and edit your profile and expense data inside the app.
• •Export a copy of your data by emailing us.
• •Delete your account; on deletion your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days and backups purge it on their normal rotation schedule.

7. Children's Privacy

SplitEasy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Use

Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. We ensure equivalent protections wherever it is processed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be highlighted inside the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the new policy.
